You can't avoid a boat trip - and that's great! Your vacation starts on board the seaside resort ships, which depart several times a day from the Bensersiel ferry terminal. The crossing? Almost like a mini-cruise. Enough time to enjoy the fresh sea breeze.

Park your car there and then continue your trip without a car. Langeoog is car-free. You can leave your car in one of the guarded parking spaces or in a garage at the pier (for a fee).
How to get to Bensersiel:
From the Rhine-Ruhr area: via the A1 to Ahlhorner Heide, then A29 to Wilhelmshaven, exit Jever/Wittmund/Ostfriesische Inseln. From there everything is well signposted.
Or via the A31: Bottrop junction to Leer Nord, then via Aurich and Ogenbargen to Bensersiel.
From the north or east: Via Hamburg or Hanover to Bremen, then as described above via the A29.
From the south: Via the A7, A45, A61 or A3 towards the Ruhr area and continue as above.
From the south/west: Take the train to the north, then take the bus directly to the jetty.
From Hamburg, Hanover, Osnabrück or Berlin: Take the train to Esens, then continue by bus to Bensersie.
Tip: The train, bus and boat timetables are perfectly coordinated during the summer timetable.
The Ostfriesland Express takes you from Bremen main station directly to the pier. But: The bus only runs if you book in advance.

Fancy a quick journey? Then take the plane. The airline Friesland Harle offers daily flights to Langeoog from April to September.
